Door fixation device and method
The present invention relates to a door fixing device for fixing a door in a desired position. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for fixing a door using a door fixing device.
A separate door is impractical for a number of reasons. One reason for this is that a loosely open door can move under only light force, which is impractical in the case of applying a paint job. A loosely open door is also desirable in daily practice because it can slam shut undesirably or open further. This may cause damage that is undesirable.
In order to prevent a door that is open separately, according to the prior art there is provided, for example, a hook with eye construction which has the drawback that a door can only be open in a certain position. Further, in the prior art, provision is made for placing a weight at the location of a pivotable door for retaining the door on one side. Such a weight can damage the door, only works from one side and certainly damages a recently applied paint job. A further solution which is known from the prior art relates to a wedge to be fitted under the door. Such a wedge also damages a recent paint job is a hindrance in its application.
In order to obviate such drawbacks, the present invention provides a door fixing device for fixing a door in a desired position, the door fixing device comprising:
- a substrate support element for arranging the door fixing device on a substrate at the desired position,
- a door support element for arranging against an underside of the door,
- a fixation assembly for providing a fixation action between the base and the door by adjusting a fixation distance with a mutual distance between the base support element and the door support element, the fixation assembly comprising:
- a threaded rod for providing a height effect,
- a wire element for cooperation with the wire rod for adjusting the mutual distance between the substrate support element and the door support element for the purpose of fixing by means of mutual engagement of the respective wire,
- wherein the fixation assembly forms an adjustable connection between the substrate support element or the substrate and the door support element.
An advantage of such a fixing device according to the present invention is that it is capable of fixing a door by engagement from the bottom of the door. The fixation device is thereby clamped between the underside of the door and the substrate. As a result, the door can advantageously be fixed in any position thereof. The door can be approached from all sides in a further advantageous manner since the fixing device functions from the bottom. Furthermore, no holes need be provided in the door, wall or the frame for attaching thereto for instance a hook and eye construction. The door stopper or at least a component thereof is preferably further manufactured from a plastic, such as by casting process or injection molding process.
According to a first preferred embodiment according to the present invention, the subsurface support element extends sideways from the wire rod, the door support element being arranged above the subsurface support element. A support relative to the bottom is hereby realized in an advantageous manner. Furthermore, a high rigidity is realized for applying forces between the substrate on the door.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the fixation assembly or its wire element are arranged side by side in top view during use. Hereby it is advantageously realized that the mutual distance between the substrate support element and the door support element can be adjusted by means of the initiation assembly over wire element thereof, side by side with the door, such as at some distance therefrom, whereby the surface of the door remains protected from contact with the door fixing device.
The thread is further preferably dimensioned such that fixation in the fixation distance can be realized by means of frictional force. It is advantageous that by means of the wire both the upward movement for the purpose of adjusting the distance between substrate support element and the door support element is realized as fixation in this position.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the wire is dimensioned such that a predetermined distance displacement can be realized by means of a rotation stroke, such as with a predetermined rotation. Hereby it is realized with a relatively large pitch that with a certain rotation a relatively large upward mutual change of distance between the substrate support element and the door support element is realized
The thread is further preferably in a form which is such that a fixation friction for holding the fixation assembly in the fixation distance can be realized. It is advantageous here that a fixation assembly arranged in the fixation position remains arranged therein for a period of time such as a period of use for fixing the door.
The threaded rod is furthermore preferably supported against the substrate support element or against the substrate. This achieves that the force is directed upwards for the purpose of keeping the door support element up.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the wire element is arranged in the door support element. Alternatively, the wire element is arranged in the substrate support element, with an engagement element for engaging the wire element through the door support element. As a result, the adjustability of the fixation distance is realized in an advantageous manner.
According to a further preferred embodiment, a base is arranged in the fixation device on the underside of the base support element for providing grip between the base support element and the base, such as a profiled surface and / or a material layer, such as a non-slip layer, such as rubber or plastic. This advantageously secures the positioning relative to the substrate.
For the purpose of fixing the device relative to the door, a door grip element is preferably included in the device for engaging an underside of the door during the fixing of the door.
This advantageously secures the positioning with respect to the door.
For the purpose of improving the uptake of the fixation force, the substrate support element comprises at least one reinforcement element, such as a rib for providing stiffness against bending by the fixation force. To this end, the door support element is preferably arranged above the base support element. A portion of this height is preferably used for arranging the reinforcement element therein.
Alternatively, the door support element is preferably arranged at least in a position thereof next to or between the substrate support element. As a result, it is advantageously realized that the height of the door support element can be limited to one or a few millimeters for the use of the door fixing device under a door that is suspended low relative to the substrate. Such a low suspension frame occurs, for example, when the fabric sill is omitted.
The door fixing device furthermore preferably comprises a guide element for providing a guide between the substrate support element and the door support element. A desirable degree of stability of the device is provided by means of such a guide element.
Further advantages, features and details of the present invention will be described in greater detail below with reference to one or more preferred embodiments with reference to the attached figures. Similar but not necessarily identical components of different preferred embodiments are designated by the same reference numerals.

FIG. 2 regarding a isometric view from a the- tail from the first preferred embodiment. FIG. 3 regarding a isometric view from a far- other detail of the first preferred embodiment. FIG. 4 regarding a side view of the < detail according to FIG. 3.FIG. 5 regarding a isometric view from a far- other detail of the first preferred embodiment. FIG. 6 regarding a isometric view from it opti- non-incremental block • FIG. 7 regarding a isometric view from a standing
linkage of the optional raising block.
FIG. 8 is a perspective view of a further preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 9 is a perspective view of details of the preferred embodiment of FIG. 8.
FIG. 10 is perspective isometric views of a variant similar to that of FIG. 9 with an inverted thread
A first preferred embodiment (Fig. 1) according to the present invention relates to a door fixing device 1. This optionally comprises raising block 2, a support plate 3, a door support element 4 and a threaded rod element 5. A fixation assembly for providing a fixing action between the support and the door by means of adjusting a fixation distance with a mutual distance between the substrate support element and the door support element is formed by mutually cooperating parts thereof. For the purpose of operation, for example, the wire support element forces the door support element upwards relative to the underside of the substrate support element when the wire rod is rotated in a suitable manner.
The substrate support element 3 comprises a bottom plate 33. Upwardly directed guide elements 34, 35 and 36 extend upwards from the bottom plate 33. These upwardly directed guide elements allow upward and downward movement of the door support element 4 and restrict horizontal movement to provide stability to the door fixing device. Furthermore, the upwardly directed guide elements limit recesses through the wire rod. Optionally, a depression in the bottom plate at the center of the threaded rod is provided. The ribs 34 of the guide elements reinforce both the bottom plate and guide elements 35. The bottom plate is furthermore provided with a rib 32 for reinforcing it. The slots 31, 31 'are provided for receiving a reinforcement element for the door support element
4. Furthermore, the substrate support element 3 comprises substrate 21 for increasing grip with the substrate.
The door support element 4 (Fig. 3, 4) is therefore provided with reinforcement ribs 41, 41 'for reinforcing it for taking up the fixation forces between the substrate on the door. Door support element 4 also comprises a receiving slot 42 for receiving the reinforcement ribs 32 of the bottom plate. For the purpose of engaging the door, a door grip element 48 is provided with a profiling surface 48 '. By means of this door grip element 48, it is realized that the surrounding surface remains free of the door, whereby the entire side of the door remains free of the door fixing device. This prevents said damage to the surface of the door and / or recent paintwork.
The wire element 49 of the door support element 4 comprises a bore or annular channel on the inside thereof with an internal thread 47 in the inner wall thereof for receiving the external thread of the threaded rod. A reinforcing body 40 is located at the front of the wire element 49. In this reinforcing body there are 2 channels 44, 45 for receiving the respective guide elements 34, 35 of the substrate support element 3. At the rear of the wire element 49 there is similarly receiving channel 46 for receiving guide element 36. This provides advantageously a stability-increasing guide between the substrate support element and the door support element. In addition, the vertical displaceability relative to each other is effectively realized.
The wire 57 of the wire rod element serves to realize the vertical displaceability
5. The wire can be received in the internal wire 47 of the wire element 49 of the door support element 4. By rotating the wire rod element 5, the mutual displacement for the mutual distance for the fixation is achieved. The thread 57 as shown is a thread that is spaced apart from some thread widths, such as some widths from the base of the thread, such as more than 1 times the width of the base of the thread, preferably more than 2 times the width of the base of the screw thread, more preferably 3 or more times the width of the base of the screw thread. For the purpose of actuating it, the threaded rod element comprises an engaging element 5 for operating it manually or possibly a suitable tool.
The optional raising block 2 can be used individually as well as a single raising block if stacked. For this purpose, the raising block comprises support body with 4 studs for mutual fixation of stacked support blocks in combination with the respective openings (not shown) on the underside thereof. As can be seen in FIG. 1, the studs also function for fixing the substrate support element between them.
The wire provides both a sufficient pitch for an upward movement with a limited amount of rotations, such as for example between 0, 3 - 2 cm per rotation, preferably 0, 5-1, 5 cm per rotation, more preferably between 0, 8- 1, 2 cm per rotation or any variation between them.
The embodiment according to Figs. 8, 9 relates to a variant for use with a small distance between the base and the door. The height of the top side of the door support element is lower than in the first embodiment. This door support element is arranged between two arms of the substrate support element for a suitable arrangement whereby the height in the lowest position is lower than in the case of a superposition arrangement. For the rest, the functioning of the two preferred embodiments is substantially the same as corresponding parts.
Furthermore, the wire provides such a grip that a friction of the wire brought into the fixation position by device remains in the fixation positions under its action. For this purpose, it is optionally provided that the play between the external thread and the internal thread is so small that some friction is present. Furthermore, an optional surface treatment is provided on the surface of the internal and / or external thread. Viewed in cross-section, the wire has a sufficient directness to absorb fixation forces and, for example, it has a cross-sectional shape with a substantially V-shape.
In an alternative preferred embodiment according to the present invention, which is not shown in the figures, the door fixing device comprises two fixation assemblies, such as on either side of the door support element. The door according to the present invention relates to a movable element, such as for closing an opening in a frame, such as a door or a window door.
FIG. 10 shows a further preferred embodiment, substantially similar to that of FIG. 9. The threaded rod 57 'of the threaded rod is formed as a threaded recess from this threaded rod. The thread element 47 'of the thread element is formed extending from the inner surface of the thread element in cooperation with the thread of the thread rod. Thus, for example, a high degree of rigidity of the side wall of the wire element is achieved by replacing a recess forming the wire with a superstructure forming the wire. A further embodiment is, for example, that the screw thread formed on the inner surface of the wire element is composed of parts. This provides the advantage that it can be manufactured by means of a relatively simple mold or mold by means of a casting process, such as an injection molding process. Preferably, a part of 180 ° or less is always formed. In the plan view (Fig. 10 B), a gap between different elements of the wire 47 ', 47 can be observed. A perspective view (Fig. 10 C) shows how they are arranged at different heights for the elements of the thread. Element of the wire 47 'is arranged on the substantially rear-top side while element of the wire 47 is arranged on the substantially front-bottom side. This advantageously realizes an embodiment with sufficient functionality according to the present invention with the stated advantages in the manufacture thereof.
In the foregoing, the present invention has been described with reference to a few preferred embodiments. Different aspects of different embodiments are considered to be described in combination with each other, all combinations considered to be considered by a person skilled in the art on the basis of this document being read within the understanding of the invention. These preferred embodiments are not restrictive of the scope of this document. The rights requested are defined in the appended claims.
